We originally produced “Your Constitutional Rights” as a CD, but now it is available here online. It really serves as a primer for people who want to learn more about what we mean when we say “the Bill of Rights is not self-enforcing”.
Independent radio producer, Barrett Golding did a superb job summarizing landmark Supreme Court decisions into 60-second spots suitable for radio broadcasting or as an adjunct to classroom or other live presentations on civil liberties. ACLU of Montana received national acclaim from the American Bar Association in 2000 for exemplary radio work.
The cases are arranged chronologically by amendment and can be viewed here. Check them out. The audio and web page combined are an excellent introduction to individual rights and constitutional law.
Thanks to the generosity of Maryanne Mott and Herman Warsh, we distributed copies to Montana schools and libraries statewide. We also made copies available to AM and FM radio stations.
