Bio
Makaya joined the ACLU of Montana as Development Associate in 2025.
Makaya attended the University of Montana where she earned a B.A. in Communication Studies and a minor in Nonprofit Administration. Prior to joining the ACLU, Makaya worked with several local nonprofit organizations, where she honed her skills in project management, communications, and data management and analysis and developed a passion for engaging with donors. Born and raised in Montana, the work of the ACLU of Montana is incredibly meaningful to her, and she is honored to bring her professional experience and commitment to justice and equity to the team.
In her free time, Makaya enjoys spending time outside with her friends and family, barre and Pilates, crocheting, reading, and trying out new recipes.
