Join us Saturday, Sept. 8 as we rally for fairness for same-sex couples and their families in Billings.

You've probably heard about Chik-fil-A and its stance opposing rights for same-sex couples. About the people who had an eat-in and gobbled down fried chicken sandwiches for discrimination. And maybe you've heard about the fundraiser the Montana Family Foundation is having Saturday, selling trucked-in Chik-fil-A sandwiches to help fund its work opposing rights for same-sex couples.

Well, let's put that negativeness aside and enjoy some local fun and locally made sandwiches with Montanans who are standing up for the original family value -- love.

We're helping host the "Fairness for All Families Rally" Saturday at 1 p.m. at 4342 Montana Sapphire Lane in Billings (Just past Shiloh on King Ave W - across the lot from Manny's Sports Bar).

The Pita Pit of Billings will be there, and will donate 75 percent of proceeds from its "Equality Chicken" and "Equality Veggie" pita sandwiches to Montana organizations working on LGBT equality. Participating organizations include the ACLU of Montana, Fair is Fair Montana, Montana Human Rights Network, Pride Foundation, TAP 365, Not in Our Town Billings, Schenk Construction and Signed, Sealed & Delivered.

We'll be making signs, taking photos for equality, rallying, face-painting, hula-hooping and jamming.

And we can promise that our event will be much healthier and more uplifting than eating fried food weighed down with discrimination.
